Hello world!

Hi, my name is Terence and I would like your help to raise money for Parkinson’s UK by trekking The Great Wall of China with the support of Charity Challenge

The boring ‘Me’ bit…

I was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease two years ago aged 46. Like many people I had no clue that Parkinson’s could affect younger people and my only frame of reference was Michael J Fox (and not the time travelling version).

And so began my chaotic and dysfunctional relationship with my new best friend Parkinson’s (Or the P word to its mates) and its symptoms…

I won’t bore you with the details of how it has impacted my life and my family and the rollercoaster of emotions you have no choice to ride but I am emerging, bizarrely a more positive person. Put simply, if I can make a small difference to someone out there then job done! Positivity not only…wait for it…makes my symptoms easier to manage but makes people happy and in a world of occasional crappiness, who wouldn’t want extra happiness?

I’m hoping to raise as much money as I can for Parkinson’s UK and challenge myself to stay on my feet (insert laughter) by trekking The Great Wall of China (The lesser known Little Wall wasn’t going to cut it).

I pay a little towards the trek and the fundraising after that I send to my charity or they don’t let me on the plane!

So, over to you lot…HELP!!!!!

You can check out how it happens at Charity Challenges website above or join in and check out Parkinson’s UK below to learn a bit more about my bestie P word!
